Earlier this month we attended an incredible event called Moms +SocialGood which explored the question: “What kind of world do we want for our families by 2030?”
In conjunction with Mother’s Day, Moms +SocialGood was dedicated to the power of mothers and families to create a better future for their communities as well as to connect moms to each other, to leading experts, and to a global audience, leveraging the power of social media, so that anyone, anywhere can join the conversation and take action. The program included notable speakers and celebrities such as Jennifer Garner, Ambassador Samantha Power, Ambassador Elizabeth Cousens, Anne Geddes, Jessica Seinfeld, Rosie Pope, David Muir, Her Excellency Toyin Saraki, Dr. Geeta Rao Gupta, Leith Greenslade, and Jackie Bezos.
The event also addressed the role of social media and philanthropy to boost health and happiness for mothers and babies everywhere. The aim was to draw attention to some of the greatest challenges facing women and children, and to put mothers and fathers at the forefront of the discussion on how to tackle these issues.
Proceeds from the event went to four initiatives which improve the health and wellbeing of women and children around the world: MAMA, Shot@Life, Girl Up, and UNICEF’s Ethiopia NICU project.
