In less than 2 months my sweet boy will be two! I can not even begin to tell you how many emotions I am beginning to feel. This is all so overwhelming! I think I did pretty well handling the first birthday, because I felt like saying “he is one” was not so bad. Actually I never say “he is one” I say “he is 22 months” I think it just makes me feel better (ha ha), but now we will transition from months to years. Crazy right?! And the tears begin… I always have the hardest time purging his clothes that no longer fit him. It takes me weeks to go through them. Not because he has so many, but because I just hate realizing he has grown out of them (another part of my denial). I usually save one or two special outfits from each size. The rest of the clothes he has out grown I have in a pile ready for donation, but this year we will be bringing it to Little Swappies!
Little Swappies is a great opportunity to swap gently used clean items that you would feel comfortable giving to a friend (nothing stained, torn, or faded) in exchange for items your child can wear now.
So how does this work?
You bring 5 gently used clean items (clothing sizes 0-6t, books, toys or maternity) and in return you are provided a large size swap bag to fill with clothing your child can currently wear. The best part is the reaming unswapped items are not kept for future swaps, EVERYTHING leftover is donated to Covenant House! The next swappies is Sunday, January 26th from 10am-noon at The World School. There will be a “kids area” with free babysitting, Free stroller cleaning by CleanBeeBaby and raffles, fun for the entire family! Tickets can be purchased for $20 in advance, or $25 at the event. A limited number of Premier tickets are available for $40 which gives you access to the swap and 2 brand NEW pieces from the Frank & Lu Collection.
See you there!
